I check this site almost everyday and it seems like there is never any recent activity on here . I like the site when it is active but I'm about ready to give up on it.

I've tried to add to the conversation but it just seems to fade away again. I like this site because there seems to be more mature viewers and less of the petty talk against other members and their cars. C'mon guys we can get this site moving again. There is a lot to talk about with these great cars. Anybody want to start ?
Hi Elaine, Nothing too exciting about my past. Just started out with a 68 convertible years ago. Always thought corvettes and Harleys made a good pair but I've owned more Harleys than Corvettes . My second Corvette was a 67 big block convertible and the third was another 68 convertible which I just sold last year and was contacted last month by the guy that bought it , telling me that it was stolen out of his garage in Ohio. . I restored all three from the ground up. I bought my present 2001 triple black convertible 6 speed 19k.miles one owner last spring and I have to say this is the best of all three of my other vettes. This might be a good thread so if anyone would like to chime in now would be a good time. Always interesting to hear about the toys that we have and the ones that we wish we still had.Why don't you tell us about yourself and your current convertible. How did you find it? How long have you had it? Had any others?

Corvettes and Harleys do seem to go together with most people that I hang with. I started out in the chopper scene in the 60's and 70's but the first Harley that I owned I bought when I was fifteen, not even old enough to drive it legally . It was a 1947 HD with a suicide clutch and tank shifter. Had many new Harleys since but never managed to get up enough money to buy a new Corvette. Now that I'm older and have the money I don't want a new one . I couldn't be happier with my 01 C5 Conv. This car is awesome. I had a 1987 C4 conv. and it was a big improvement in handling over the earlier vettes , but I had so much trouble with the electronics that I didn't keep it very long. Sold it to a guy that knew electronics. Overall a nice car but didn't compare to the C5. And the important thing is to have that understanding wife because we sure put them through a lot over the years.I like that Harley and Corvette thing also. Bought my first Corvette back in the spring of 69. It was a 65 Roadster with two tops, White with the light blue interior which I always call Nassau blue. It wasn't long after that I went to see Easy Rider on the big screen and came out wanting a Harley. So started off with Sportsters and chopped them and graduated into panhead choppers and then into Shovels. Had more Corvettes at the time also. A 71 4 speed big block and a 65 coupe with the flared wheel wells and side exhaust. Got married and settled down and got into baggers and that's where I stayed. Have a 99 Ultra now that is slammed and chromed with a bunch of stuff done to it. Nice!
Along the way there were C3's and C4's and a C5 Corvette and now have the 10 GS 6 speed, which I consider the best one so far.......but enjoyed them all.......someday maybe a C7? Did I mention I have a great wife that put up with all that? Of course it seemed to work out if I got something she ended up with a new kitchen or something for the house.......only fair right?![]()

Not much of a motorcycle guy, but when I was 12 years old, in 1969 a friend of my father pulled up to our house
in a brand new corvette. I saw that thing and man my jaw dropped to the floor, it was beautiful, and I was hooked.
Then in 1984 the C4 was introduced and it was amazing. I was married by then, and trying to buy our first house so
any idea of owning a Corvette was going to have to wait. I finally decided when I was 42 that I waited long enough
and also with the wifes approval bought the polo green LT4. That led to my finally buying the ultimate C4 (IMO) my
Grand Sport. Love both cars, and my wife of 31 years for putting up with my Corvette "hobby".
Just my short story. Hopefully not to boring, but it does keep the thread going.

It's funny... Of late, I'm actually doing the opposite. The C3 rides like an unmodified C3 so going for anything longer than an hour isn't a pleasure whereas I can hop onto my Harley and ride all day with minimal discomfort.The older I get the less I ride the Hog and the more I take the GS. The protection is one thing but I'm more into the comfort also. My bride of 30 years is more willing to jump in the Vette then on that loud old HD.......the times they are achanging.

My 73 has no options except the L82 so no A/C, no power brakes, no power steering, no tilt... a truly 'raw' driving experience. The Harley is a creampuff by comparison.I love those 73's but you may want to consider upgrading into a C5 or 6.......little more comfort built in. I had a metallic yellow L82 4 speed....that I really liked but it did not have the tilt wheel and I had a hard time getting in and out of it.....
