I was "kicking tires" with a fellow Vetter while waiting to get the oil changed, and he is planning to put an LS1 from a wrecked 1998 into his '94 C4. Has anyone done this or have any idea what is involved ? Aside from performance gain from the additional horsepower, are there other advantages or disadvantages? By the way, he purchased the motor for under $2,000 with very low mileage. His '94 has over 120,000 miles on the clock, so he maintains it would be cheaper than a rebuild for the LT1. Interesting perspective!

I bet by the time he is done trying to figure out how to get the LS1 to work in his car, it won't be cheaper.... A project like that sounds like a real PITA

Sticking an LS1 in a C4 requires all the electronics to be integrated somehow... sticking an LS1 into an old car is much easier (but still hard) because the engines were much more stand-alone back then. I wish that guy luck, I hope it works out for him in the end.

wayyyy too many electronics to worry about IMO, wouldnt really be cheaper
