Welcome mate.

Thanks for the welcome

Yes thanks for the welcome
My C4 its a standard model I think
its got the 350 we call them 5.7 here by law which is total BS
we lost the imperial system back in the seventies
every thing now is metric except tyre sizes mines got 275/35X18
anyway my small block has extractors (headers)
twin 52mm throttle bodies and has been chipped up
every thing works the dash A/C cruise and the locking
also its Right Hand Drive we can have LHD here
but only if its over 30 years old and then on club rego
I will try and send some pics
thanks again John

Pictures would be :cool!: To tell you the truth I did not know Corvette (GM) even offered a RH drive. About the only thing for the most part you see in the US with RH drive is the US Mail vehicles. Jeeps mostly, but some others are available I think. a large percentage of the is still LH drive and they drive it setting in the RH side, kind of tricky driving it like that I would think but I guess after a while the normal way of driving would be weird :Steer

Right hand drive Corvette

Hi Hoosier and thanks for all the welcome notes
My Corvette was converted back in 2002 by Corvette Queensland
they are a pretty big outfit they do the conversions on the Mustangs
Im not sure of the costs but a 2015 Mustang or Camaro with the conversion and 5 year warantee you dont get any change out of $130K for either when I work out how to send pics I will do so
The avatar pic is me back in 1975 in Darwin doing the cleanup after the cyclone
thanks again for your welcome replies

Welcome to the CAC

In the Site Help and Feedback forum you will find a thread on posting pictures. Most questions you have about navigating the forums are there.
I don't know if I could ever get used to shifting left handed but it would be fun to try.

Shifting left handed

Hi Tom
Funny you should say that
today I drove for a mate who wanted the day off
its a Mack Vision 475HP and an 18 speed road ranger
all done with my left hand
I once drove a B model Mack with LHD
and changed gears with my right hand (the wrong one)
the gears didnt bother me but keeping the truck on the left
(correct) side of the road is hard
15 years back the Mrs and Me went to the UK and borrowed
a right hand drive Fiat but when we took it to France we
had to drive on the right like you guys now that is hard
any way I will talk later
John

That's funny. I was in Germany for a couple of years in the army and occasionally traveled to England. I didn't have to worry about shifting with the wrong hand because I was on my motorcycle but I did occasionally find myself on the wrong side of the road. I guess it depends on which side you are used to.

By the way, at the end of the year I will be retiring and getting out of Mack trucks also. All of ours are auto shift now. About half are the new ones with no clutch pedal. They work fine but take a lot of getting used to.

Tom

Old Mack drivers

Hi Tom
I havent been in an auto for about 35 years and that
was in a MCR Mack Tipper with an Allison auto
all the right hand drive Mack trucks are built here in Brisbane
we used to build RHD F150s and Broncos
here but Ford are shut the plant down
and stopped selling them
Are the Macks still made in Allentown?
My Corvette is RHD but it has a Turbo 700 auto
Im still trying to upload my pics
I got them uploaded OK but didnt know how
to get them into my garage so any help would be good
Thanks John
