Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

OK so I am over 50 years old!

I got my first one when I was 27, and I never looked back. Wanted one my entire life, always drove practical cars. Saw a red coupe for sale in San Francisco and fell in love with it immediately, bought it for $10k. What a rush driving it for the first time, I wish that everyone had the chance to own a corvette at least once in their life.

I got 2 more years b/4 i'm 50 but when I drive my vette I'm 18 again...what a thrill!!!!

I am 56 and have no need for Viagra but a strong need for my Vette.

My first was a 66 327, 350HP, four speed car at the age of 24 in 1973, my second and current is an 88 coupe with a 4+3. Most of the people my age think I'm crazy when they see how I drive it, but I don't care. I don't do burnouts or anything anymore, but plenty of people in my community have seen me with the car going a little sideways at times.

I am a nearly retired, ultra conservative, church going old guy that drives like a kid and don't plan on changing that until the day they say some prayers over me and lower my casket.

Happy New Year,

i am 72 this year and you can see i am still into corvettes, and i still do not need any viagra, could be the corvettes. :D

Thanks for giving us (me) reasons for optimism, Motorman!
Actually, I still feel, and act as if I'm still in my mid-twenties.....well, maybe late twenties. But I have a REALLY hard time believing I'm turning 50. I just don't feel any different from when I was a kid.....I just have a few more aches and pains that don't go away like they used to. -John

if i knew i was was going to live this long i would have taken better care of my body! :D too many dirt bike crashes have taken the toll on my knees.

I'm 60 and feel like I'm 28. I think the Vette's have gone a long way to help that. The C-4 for playing, and the C-5 as the ultimate GT. The weather was good here yesterday, so took the C-5 and cruised for a good part of the day. What an incredibly comfortable car.

Glad to see that I am not the only "mature" person here.

I guess old would be when you go cruzin' for babes with teeth.
If I'm having a midlife crisis at the age of 65, that means I should be able to buy at leaste 2 more Vettes.... Right???

do you really plan to keep em 20 years before trading?

I guess I'm not the only one from the 60s and 70s era :upthumbs

I love the bunk beds in your garage, Young Fella.

I'm about to turn 57 and just got my first one in July. I hope things work out where I drive a Vette from here on out.

Good post for the New Year.

Turning 50 on Feb. 2nd. Youngest kid is 6, oldest 23.

Refuse to drive anything but a Vette.

No time and not enough money to act old.

George

Remember that old Tom T. Hall tune that talked about the young guy's conversation with the old guy? The old guy told him that there are just four important things in life...

"Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, mo money"

Ya'll PLEASE don't rat me out to She Who Must be Obeyed, okay?

50 too

Anytime I drive my Corvette, it makes me feel like I'm in my twenties again. They are the best for making one feel better whenever you take that special drive. I plan on driving my current one till I can't anymore. Can't wait till Spring comes here in Western PA.

Turning 51 in a few days, the vette makes me feel young again. In some respects I feel younger than my oldest (29), she's very mature, fairly conservative, while her old dad is driving a vette! I had a '64 coupe thirty years ago, and it was no more fun then, than the one I have now.

I just hit 75. No comment on the Viagra......;)

There’s more to it than how you feel, you have to be able to know you feel that way. It’s like a full throttle 1-2 shift, did you have a bowel movement or did you just do a prefect speed shift, or both.

Sixty six and counting, or is it 67, what was the question?? :lou
