Now I feel like a young'n

I have to admit this past year,my double nickel was a good one and one to remember, but alas next month, I will be the double nickel no more.

Maybe we can have a special section on this forum for the members 50 and over and call it the 50+ group:upthumbs

I lost 20 years the first week I bought mine , and my wife was thrilled as much as I was ! By the way ( 999) I'll be 50 on FEB.6Th !!!

Glad to see there are alot of Corvette owners in all ages out there.
At 52 I feel I am just getting started and now I am at number 30
Corvette. After watching the Barrett-Jackson auction I realized things
have gone full circle. When I was younger I wanted a new Vette, but
could only afford mid-years. Now I can finally have a new one and
don't think I can afford some of the mid-years!

Wolle,

Great to hear from a German Corvette owner.

I lived in Germany for two years but that was 35 years ago. I learned my freeway driving habits on the Autobahn, so the speed limits and driving habits here in the US drive me crazy.

I was in Hamburg about five years ago and spent lots of time working in Germany in 2000 through 2003. I drove quite alot on the Autobahn but I can't recall ever seeing a Corvette. I sure would have loved to had my Corvette with me for my driving in Germany.

Herzliche gruesse,
Doc

Thanks for the memories

I spent about 10 years over there, Germany, (FRG), I did not have a Corvette, but I had a new at the time, 1981 Honda CB 750 Custom and a new AMF 1981 Harley Davidison Low Rider, 1340CC motorcycle, I spent many a day travelling on the Autobahn. At times I got them both going so fast I started to get front fork wobble. Yes to be there with a Corvette now and have the autobahn nearby.

I sure would have loved to had my Corvette with me for my driving in Germany.

Age

Well I feel great reading all the replys. I am 61 (age is just a number) and I just bought my first Corvette, 1993, Ruby Red/ruby interior. I live in central Pa and have not been able to drive it too much as the weather has not been the best. I did get to drive it 220 miles home on Monday 1/30. I get a thrill every time I sit in it. Always wanted one.

Best to all.

Congrats, and welcome. I know the feelings you describe VERY well, and trust me, you're going to feel that good every time you're in that car! Let's see some pictures when you get a chance. -John
