Several CAC members have reported seeing a few C6s making their way across the western United States.

I came across the following photos on Rick Conti's web site (www.corvetteconti.com), which is always a good source of C6 updates.

Enjoy.

(And let me know if the photos don't load, as I haven't tried to post photos here before).

Nice! The more pictures I see of the C6, the more I really like it. I can't wait to see one up close and personal! :)

It's strange! I've lived here all my life, and not until maybe just last year did I ever hear about Spitzer Chevy having a dedicated Corvette dealer! And Spitzer isn't exactly a small place to begin with. They've had commercials on the local tv stations for years, but there's NEVER mention of their Corvettes! Other dealers will put up billboards with the vette on it or maybe a small radio ad, but Spitzer (Conti) never has! I wonder why? Hmmm... Maybe he doesn't need to! One of these days I'm gonna have to cruise out there! It's only like 30-40 minutes or so from my place.

I should really keep a better eye open. I guess I'm quite privy to lots of cool Corvette stuff right in my own backyard and don't even realize how fortunate I am! I have Mallet Performance literally 5 minutes from my house. The IX Center (for the Cleveland Autoshow) is 10 minutes from my house. And Corsa Exhaust just opened up a big location right down the street from Mallet. I guess Corsa has some (small) Corvette gathering in the summer that I just learned about. There's also Summit Racing about 40 minutes away, which is lots of fun to walk through, and we have Norwalk Raceway which is a world-class 1/4 mi drag strip, also only about 40 minutes away.

Yet when I go to the car shows around here that draw HUNDREDS of classic cars EVERY WEEKEND, there are almost no vettes representing. Hmmm....

Evo1980 . . . If you do get a chance to check out Spitzer, give us a bit of a report. I talked to Rick Conti by phone and it's pretty clear he's a fanatic about Vettes. He was also very patient in answering my questions.

Will do! However, I won't likely be going out there before May, as April around here won't be solid vette-weather yet. (Myself nor my car like bein' in the rain...)

Personally, those 3 pix do absolutely nothing for me! Have to wait and see in person before I can tell for sure.

Thought the arse was getting smaller. Huge bootie just doesn't get it with me. I like the tight athletic look.

I think it looks sort of "goofy" in these pictures (especially that dip between the tailights--oh so 2004 Malibu/Impala)---the rear looks way too big, and there is something cheap-ish and un-coordinated looking about the entire car (sits too high on wheels and tires, C3-ish fenders which are badly done, awkward side scoop). That's to be expected, I guess, when you have the same guy who designed the Aztec do this car, and then when it went through all those last minute re-designs we read about. Also, I think the design looks old. There are lots of fresh looking designs comming out today in all sorts of cars, but this looks like a bad throwback and already has a dated sort of look. Maybe it will look better when I actually see it.

I agree with Cris. The rear is...well....not right. I am starting to think the C5 is looking real good and with the prices at give away levels this may be the deal of the decade.

Coincidentally I was driving behind a new Impala this morning after I typed the earlier message, and again noticed that the themes of that rearend are repeated on the new Corvette (two huge tailights on each side, a rear decklid which slopes down towards the middle and the awkward high mounted stoplight which pokes up). The same guy who did the Aztec also did the Impala and also did the Corvette. Hopefully the C6 will be at our local Auto Show in April, and maybe it will look better when you actually see it.

My wife and I went to Cleveland tosee the C6 convertible, and was impressed by it!

Zippy :) :)

how do you make the rear end smaller and still get the tires under the body work?

Love it.

Looks great to me but I like every style so far. Love is blind I guess.
