Planet 67 gets under way...

Down here we would have poured the floor before doing any of the walls, but I know it's done your way in lots of places.

Looking good!

Tom,

It gets cold here in The Great White North, so I prefer to drop down 4.5 feet and pour footings below the frostline, rather than build on a slab. Frost can do nasty things with a 1,300 sq. ft. floor.

Also, my preference is concrete block foundation walls with a floating floor inside the box. :)

Bob, I poured the walls on mine 30" (which is below our frost line)deep x 8" wide, then poured the floor after the foundation had cured for a week or two (I don't remember exactly). That gave me a flat surface on which to build my walls. The foundation is almost a foot higher than the floor, which floats inside the foundation. After nearly 20 years I only have one hairline crack in the floor.

Heaven,

Did you plan placing a restroom as well? That looks like a long walk ( or run? :chuckle) to the house...;LOL

Probably so, Mark. Farmer Jim already has to contend with the fact his hens stop laying eggs for several days everytime 67 cranks that monster up without the sidepipes. :L

If I'd known how much rain we'd be getting this year, I'd have waited 'til next year. :bash Could have gone to CruiseFest. Could be going to Carlisle. ;shrug Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain....................... ;squint:

Heaven,

I am impressed! Are you retired like Bud (Yoda) is? You should see his house. The man is a "Honey-Do-List-Madman".

Great job. From all that work, I need to sit down and sip on my Margarita...;)..:drink

I wish, Gerry. ;) Fortunately, I'm on retainer with some of my clients and so when I'm on the roof, I've got my cellphone with me, in case of an emergency that requires my attention. :D

Mind you, I've been gradually reducing my client list in anticipation of truly living the Green Acres life.

This photo doesn't show it, but I've got three sides of the roof shingled up to the 3/4 point.
