I want to replace the hood lamp on my '81. I have the new lamp, but the captive nuts for the two lamp bolts are missing. Anyone ever had this problem and found a good workable solution?

I have seen pop-rivet style rivets and was wondering if they would work? Or would they split the fiberglass??

Thanks,

you need new "well nuts" They are nuts encased with rubber..when tightened, they spread out to fill the hole. the same as used (except they are 1/4), to hold the rear cargo shade to the bulkhead. I think that they're #10 X 24 threads. you can get them at Lowe's; maybe Home Depot.

Once you get it installed please tell me how you get the damm blub in there!!!!

I know what you mean...even trying to get the bulb out/in with the entire light in my hand (off the hood) is not easy. I had to have my daughter do it for me.
