Tall in NW Kansas

Thanks, the hub cap I have is not like either of them so not sure what it is.

I think your 58 looks better Charcoal and taking it back to the original color is the thing to do anyway. Again love it, would love to have one but to tell you the truth I don't need something else to wipe on and rarely drive. I would be a little afraid to drive it too much or park it just anywhere, would be a nervous wreck worrying about it probably would drive me crazy to drive a classic around like yours :crazy

You've had it since 1968 so that is around 46 years, that is amazing in itself :beer it's like family!

I actually have spent more good times with that car than I have with many family members. This is no show car anymore. Just a fun driver, which is what I wanted when I paid $800 for it in '68. If I had spent megabucks for it, I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much. I forgot to mention earlier that it is a 4 speed and had the original 283ci / 230hp motor when I got it. Switched to a 327 / 350 back in 1970. The original engine still sits in the garage. Had planned a rebuild years ago, but now the 327 has been in place much longer than the 283 ever was. If you are ever in my neck of the woods, let me know and we can take it for a cruise.

That's exactly the way I would want to own a 58 or whatever classic, show car would scare me to death to drive it. My C-5 has some stone chips here and there but your're going to get some of that if you drive it. I see what you mean about the engine, bet it has pretty good get up and go with the 327/350/4-speed too. I was in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City Missouri back in 1966-67 with a guy that lived there that I was in the Army with. I ever get that way again I will definitely let you know Don.

Welcome, I am a "White Hat" for high school football here in Oklahoma for 33 years!:upthumbs
I white hatted and umpired for 26 years on the west coast. Was fortunate to work 4 State Champ Games in Washington and one NCAA National Champ (D3) game. I'm wanting to get the Corvette....now just need to locate some to test drive.

Welcome Paul!
I'm from Kansas myself, born in Salina, but lived most of my life in Texas.
I'm 6'6" as well and like you have found most Vettes too cramped.
Recently bought my first, a C6 convertible, best fit I could find. Not many cars made to fit guys like us. Good luck in your search.

Bill-thanks for the info. I agree, not many cars for us normal sized people. I like the looks of the hardtop, but may need to look for a convertible.
