And now, the rest of the story

A while ago, I had posted pictures of the Navy Wings on my glove box, and the decal on the window. I had bought the car in 1970 from a Navy pilot (original owner) going to Nam. I still do not know what happen to him.

While at my brothers house in Ocala, (he is 25 years younger) he brought out this pin and said , he found it in one of my boxes that I had stored at my parents house, when he was a little kid. I must have taken it out of the glove box some 40 years ago and forgot about it.

It seems to be the uniform pin. Any information on the pin would help.

After all these years I have one more part of the original owners life in the car.

Jack's Florida Meet-N-Greet

Jack's agreed to meet everyone Saturday (tomorrow) at Old Town (US 192 in Kissimmee - where the NCRS show is every January) at about 3pm. That'll give us all time to relate stories, down a few adult beverages, have dinner and do the Saturday night cruise.

Jack, you are welcome to stay at our house in Chapel Hill NC. Others from the area could come to a central meeting place to show their cars, have some food and then you could spend the night at our house.

I have a backyard buddy lift that you use to check your car if you want. Give me a rough idea of what day(s) you will be in the area.
If this sounds good let me know and then I will call you on the number you posted.

Roger

Jack,

The invite is still open if you want to stay with us in Chapel Hill NC. :w
Let me know so that I can make arrangements.

Buster Baker and his wife Frances were great hosts in Pinson AL. He has a 63 coupe that he bought in 1969. I had trouble with internet and phone service , he lives in a holler?

Jack is somewhat of an alarmist. Just because I told him we can't git Saturday nights Grand ol Opry until Tuesday afternoon, he thinks we are out of touch with the world. Our postmaster in the next holler has a telephone. Any ways, we had a great visit. The trip has been grueling at times but man, he has some great stories.

It was a pleasure meeting him and my wife and I really enjoyed it.

Just before the hail storm which we are not used to. The biggest hailstones I have ever seen. Jack has photos of me and my wife out in the storm just as we covered her car with blankets.

Glad we got our vettes in before the storm

Kinda close quarters in my small garage!

As Jack was backing out, my nephews were sittin on the porch swing and broke out with a rousing version of "dueling Banjos" Ol Jack took off like a rabbit. Don't know what his hurry was.[/QUOTE]

Here are some great shots of Buster's car a 63 coop that he bought in 69.
