Everywhere I read on the forums says the air foil does nothing. But in the TPIS insider hints book says 6.5 HP and 7.2 lb-ft on a stock 350. and on fully modifyed 350 it gets a whopping 11.8 HP and 13.8 lb-ft. Would they lie about this? I have one on my 85 vette and would hope I am getting something out of it.

I don't know where they get their numbers from, but they seem to be exagerated, at best.

I do have an air foil. I also have an open air filter lid, a K&N air filter, with a ported plenum. The combo gives more air flow, and I'm sure more HP.

I am sure they tested it exhaustively and their results show their best gains in their controlled environments.

That said, look at any 58mm tb for our cars - they all have a similar design already machined or cast into them. Coincidence? I doubt it... It showed gains somewhere along the line and remains. The 52mm TB's I have gotten, have also iincluded TB Air Foils. If they didn't help, why put them in there ;shrug

Now, will you ever "feel" 6 or 9 hp? No way :L Is it there? more than likely, it helps your engine with its efficiency :beer
