Vette struck by lightning

Yeah well,Tomorrows Breakfast is going to be some un-suspecting Sales person that told me just how great their re-pro parts fit!!:L:L:L
I'm not a Happy camper at the moment!:mad:mad:mad

No,it's not the car or installer! :D

Any luck with Zip on those weather strips?
Actually,No!!I called them right after I talked to you this morning,First talked to somebody in sales can't remember his name but he was going to let me talk to a tech about it,10 minutes on hold and then I was told he was talking to someone else and would call me back!!Hadn't heard anything by 11:30 so I called back and got my sales person and explained what was up,got ask all the normal questions!!"Did you get all the glue and old rubber cleaned out of the channels,Has the vehicle had any damage??" I told him that this was not my first rodeo with Corvette weatherstrips I've been a Automotive body technician for over 30 years and I know how things are supposed to fit,and something isn't right!!:L:L:L He said Ok he'd talk to the tech and call me back, which he did and told me sometimes their a little tight till they get broken in and suggested I use some sort of silicone stuff they use!!;shrug;shrug;shrug If these are a just little tight,I wounder what would happen on one that is tight,Door fly open and brake your leg when you go to open it?:boogie:boogie:boogieThe good news is I've been adjusting things all day,and they are getting better,I've got 2 600 watt heat lamps on each side tonight and I'll see how they are in the morning!:thumb I did drive the car this evening and it sure has allot less wind noise than it had,and feels tighter too!!:thumb:thumb:thumbBut I'm sure I'll have to do some more adjusting before it's all over,I just don't like the fit!:W:W:W

The last helper was doing good till I gave him a raise,he calculated that as to mean that he didn't have to work as many hours!!I've had it with the local work force around here!!

You could always setup shop in say......Louisville or say Bowling Green!;) There are plenty of people around here and Bowling Green who would love to work with ya, and plenty of Corvette owners who would flock to you to have their vette worked on! :upthumbs

Man,If I wanted the city life,I'd still be soaking up the rays in South Florida!!:thumb I like seeing the deer, turkey and bears every day!!:thumb:thumb:thumb Had a Big Gobbler come for a stroll through the shop a while back!!Came in the back door strolled around through the cars and went out the front and up the driveway across the road around the pond and then up the the mountain in to the woods!!:L:L:L

3-4 hours and day and 2-3 days a week on there schedule and not anyone else's and still get for paid 40-50!!:L:L:L

I'm thinking of starting a Bed,Breakfast and Corvette Spa Resort!!:thumb
Where do it their self Enthusiasts can book a week or longer to get work done with them as the helper and learn about their car!!:L
What'ta Ya Think??? Will it work??:D:D:D

All I ever wanted was an honest week's pay for an honest day's work.

However, I'd work for with you for free in hope that some of the talent wore off on me.

Your work is better than amazing.

We're lucky to have you around!!!

Made it home safe and sound... She's back in the garage and waiting to be driven to work Monday as long as we don't get anymore of that freezing rain.

It's like having a whole new car, rides and drives better than the day I bought her. :D:D:D:D

The months of waiting finally paid off; and I must say it was well worth the 400 mile drive to have Junkie make the repairs.:beer:beer

For that matter even his helper is a pretty good guy. :thumb

Glad it worked out for ya .I'm surprised that more people don't travel the distance to have Junk do their work.Hell I bring mine down from Maine .:thumb

Yeah well,Good guys only count when their dependable!!:thumbYour car should have been finished when you got here if he would have showed up to work on my schedule and not his!!:thumb:thumb Haven't seen or heard a word since Saturday!!:ugh:ugh:ugh He can stick a fork in my butt and roll me over,I'm DONE!:thumbHe took a 10 day vacation starting the the week before Thanksgiving without a word, worked 2 days and I never heard a thing for 4 more working days and then he showed back up on Wednesday and worked 3 days,1 of which was on his own car mostly!:W:W:W
It's hard to take on more work when help is so wishy washy and don't show up to work!
I have to lay out allot of $$$$ every month for materials, parts, heat and garage keepers insurance and I don't get paid till there finished! So they must get finished "Right" as quick as possible!!:thumb:thumb:thumb
He should have been the one helping wax and clean up your car Not you!
I wanted to do some Twisties on Friday and Saturday!!:D
:thumb:thumb:thumb

My job or not I did not mind helping out at all, in fact I rather enjoyed it, and sure learned a lot too.

Some Twisties would have been nice but we'll do some soon; I end up in your neck of the wood about every six months or so for some reason or another, I'll make the time.
