battery light and buzzer go on and off together with acceleration/deceleration, the same fuse keeps popping for the dash and parking lights, temp gauge doesn't appear to work. Where do I start? Someone suggested replacing the center console circuit board. I am thinking I need to take the car to someone that has more experience with problems like this. I am in Louisville, KY if anyone has any recommendations. I rebuilt my alternator thinking maybe the voltage regulator was going bad, but it didn't fix anything. I just hate to keep replacing parts. Any suggestions? I have a simple voltage meter that I used when I refinished my basement, just a red and black prong if I can use that to check things, but I don't know where to start checking.

Hello Lance,

This is a really nice one. I don't have a clue were to look or what to look for so to begin just a few questions.

Did this problem begin on its own? And what did you do/change right before the problem began?
It's been a year or longer I checked the wiring harness so I don't remember exactly where everything is but if I remember correctly the battery light and the buzzer (is it the safety belt or headlight buzzer?) are not related in the wiring harness. The closest thing that could connect the two together is in the plastic circuit board behind the center console.

Is there a difference if you drive with your lights on or off?
It would be a easy thing to begin with and check, the center plastic circuit breaks or cracks easy. So I would start there.

There are a couple or three Corvette clubs in the Louisville area. My advice would be to contact club members for recommendations on your problems.

Well there have been some changes unfortunately. I was having some carb problems so I do not have a choke on it right now and some emissions hoses going in and out of the carb are plugged. The electric problems started acting up a little bit after that. I don't see how this would affect the electric system though, and the mechanic (a good friend of mine) is stumped also. I have to say the car is running great, even if the carb isn't setup as a factory 81. I pulled the boards around the center console to inspect the circuit board, the board doesn't look to be in the best of shape, but the fact that I haven't done anything to it makes me wonder why it could be the problem. As far as the buzzer, I am not sure which one it is, but it sounds like it is coming from the center console area. The buzzers for mine have never really worked in the 10+ years I have owned it.

No I don't have that manual yet. I asked for it for Christmas, but didn't get it, just underwear and socks :(
