I have to change my vote. I originally said '73, but since I bought a 69 convertable, side piped, 4 speed, #'s matching, 383 stroked, blue with black int today, I have to say 69 is now my favorite.

I was set on a 'vette, and soon multiplied my 500$ to roughly 5 grand in under a year. When I was 16, I set out for a vette and found an 82 that was perfect. Fair miles, mint condition and drives smooth.
I'm still 16, and a junior in high school, my 82 serves me well and that's why I voted for 80-82, cuz of the smoooth lines

Knowing him as I do I am not looking forward to his license as I fear the havic he will reek on the poor unsuspecting public. You must be cut from a different cloth and having the southern location helps a bit as you have a year rounder. What's your deal on car insurance as I can't imagine what it costs for a 16 year old with a vette. Up here it would be just a wee bit pricey. I got my 1st vette when I was 24 and had to register it in my girlfriends name so that I could afford the insurance. Had to marry her just to get the keys on occasion--so far so good on that front.
Congrats! I didn't get mine until senior year of highschool. Of course, I was also 23 at the time. :L Just kidding... I was 18 when I bought mine. But then again, I paid for everything! (That's why I had to wait until I was 18...couldn't get a bank loan at 17.)flynbyu82 said:Our deal was that I had to pay for half the car and gas, my parents pay for insurance. I dont want to ask my dad what he pays But, he has a Shelby Cobra and a Carrera sitting in the garage so its not like I'm going to bank rupt him , I just stole is sense of cars !!
As for a teenager with a vette, Im a pretty responsible kid, never seeing if I can top out my car or anything. It's actually very easy to drive compared to a lot of cars. The accelerator and steering isn't to touchy, and it handles well. The only thing bad I've learned about my car, or, 'dangerous?' is how the weight really does effect how it drives. When it's raining, I make sure I'm super careful not to lose control, driving slower than I normally do. And from experiance, accelerating on turns isn't a good idea, I've already had my share of 360s from accelerating on turns .

The convertibles looked mean with the top up or down and the 427's had awesome performance. Add the factory side exhaust and that car was hard to beat (looks & performance).
Vettes Rule - all Vettes
