Why haven't you bought a C6 yet?

I saw your sig with all the Vettes you have owned. There is a difference between a Corvette owner and a Corvette Lover. To a Corvette Lover all Vettes are good cars.

I wrote a check for it, then took my C-6 back the next day.

I actually like my (terrible) C-4 better and am not a bit sorry I block comments from motormouth. I don't subscribe to trashing others' cars for any reason. We all have differing interests and values. The vast majority of people on this forum are supportive to the others.

My '84 is modded as I like; is quite a bit faster than the new car and the ride is better than the Z-51. WTF is refinement? I'd mod a C-6,as well.

I like keeping my cash and with the large discounts starting on the C6, even happier that I did not 'spec' on the new car. I like the look of the C-6 more than the C-5. The FRC fits me, too, but the seats don't. I came real close to buying a Z06 C-5, which was a good deal, but I didn't 'fit' the FRC well, and was not motivated by the minor improvements for the $40 large. To each, his own.

I may yet, get a C6, but I will have to get it equipped as I want it, and the packages offered do not do it, just as the last generation did not offer a Z06 Vert. Either that, or wait for a 'steal', then mod it as I wish.

Times change so C-6 is GM's times are change thing. I don't personally like some of the changes but that is just me, again to each their own! I did like what they did with the interior for the most part on the C-6 but the exterior changes really didn't trip my trigger all that much. But it is the latest Corvette so it still sets appart from just any other car, I am going to give it the chance it deserves. Maybe the changes will grow on me but for now I still personally like my C-5 better! By the way my all time favorite would be a "63 Split-Window Coupe but that is definantly out of my price range and I want one that I can drive where ever I want and take some trips and the 63 would scare me to death to drive it some where and leave it parked while I was having some fun. I would have to hire a guard. Really liked the 72 LT1 a lot too, so the C-1. C-2, C-3, C-4, C-5 and now the C-6 they are all Corvettes so we are going to have to accept it into the ranks just like the rest of them; but that doesn't mean I have to own one. Couldn't afford one anyway, but one day they will probably fit just like the ones before it. It is going to be interesting what kinds of things wil change on the C-6 as time goes on. Just think one of these days there will be a C-7, C-8, and even a C-10; everthing gets replaced. Time chages so much and then you look back and things seem to remain the same. Wander how many people felt like this when the C-3, C-4 and even the C-5 came out?

i owned a brand new 63 SWC and it leaked water like a crazy thru the top door seal on the drivers side. GM had to install a new door to fix it. you can't beat the new ones. i was just down in the garage setting in my C-6 reving the engine and listening to the CD player since the roads are too ****ty to drive it. you never loose you love for a corvette and i am looking forward to my next new one. maybe a ZO-6 in a couple of years if i live that long.

Right on brother; you can have trouble with any of them, I bet if you drove a 1963 Split-Window Coupe today and everday it will still leak, uh? We are all only human and we make this things, right? Things change and one day it will too be the normal and something else will take its place! We are not living in a perfect world, and you know what happens? Anyway I see you had something to do with NASCAR what was it a Tech. Inspector? Got any contacts with any of the drivers today? I am a NASCAR freak!!!! Would love to meet Michael and Darrel Waltrip when I come down to Bowling Green this next June, their home town is not that far away from Bowling Green according to the map. They live in Owensboro, KY, don't they have a museum there?

To each his own ...... and that's what makes the world go around. I wanted an early 60's split window coupe but could not afford it back then. The vettes since then have not really captured my attention, and I did drive them but bought Porsches, BMW M3s and others. The C6 when the first pictures appeared kidnapped me and I continuely read everything I could about the new vette.
About 6 weeks ago I got to drive one on an autocrosse course and I was in love ( my wife still comes first) Anyway, I am now counting the days until my Victory Red 6speed with the Z51 package. 1SB and Zm radio is ready to pick up in Bowling Green. To those that have earlier models enjoy them as I will mine, each has a great place in the history of "Americas Sports Car". I'm just glad I can be part of it. Say, retirement ain't all bad and the grandkids WILL NOT eat in the vette. Happy and Safe New Year to all Jack

Did you get a coupe or conv? I see you did order a 6-speed, that sure would have been my choice but I would probably have ordered black. Anyway I bet it's sharp; when you get it you are going to have to post a lot of pictures.
I am just going to keep my C-5 for now anyway. Not too much grabbed me until the C-5 came out other than the older ones, but again I have never seen a CORVETTE I didn't lilke. It says AMERICA to me out loud!

Nothing like a new car; but a new C-6 it just doesn't get much better than that! I am really happy for you; you know the old saying "The Only Differance Between Men and Boys is the price of their toys!" I totally agree with that and will stand as proof of it as well. So you fly too, both in the air and will be on the ground, uh?

I wish I did. Mrs. wants an automatic but CTS-V only comes with a standard. (so far). I can't justify getting one for myself unless I sell my Corvette. That's not going to happen. If I was still hauling (child) car seats it would be a tougher choice.

Haven't seen one yet, are they out yet? Pretty expesive ride I'm sure.

I guess 600 extra pounds pushed it over the limit. 16 city 25 hwy mpg. Corvette manual shift is 19 and 28 mpg. I like Cadillac's 4 year warranty. That offsets the extra cost a bit.
If you buy a 2005 Lamborghini L-147/148 Murcielago the gas guzzler tax is $7,700. Yikes!
