build sheets are a funny thing actually.... to many people get wrapped up in "what day was my car built". There is no exact formula or standard. You need the Build sheet, dealer invoice sheet as a minumum. As a export car you also have a country of entry forms and history we folks in the states...
well seeing 96 LT4's or any C4 for that matter, tire size is based on the suspension option you have and not the engine you have the selection is eased.
in 96 z51 susp. have 275"s on all 4 corners. 285's are suitable to fit on the rims if ya want a the ssame wider patch of the same GY GSC. FE1 &...
its in your garage and its PAID FOR..... unless the person your trying to impress has a C6, why is there even argument. You drive a vett and they don't! If a woman is that shallow to care what year or generation it is... then run from her in the first place. If your embarressed to drive a C4...
Just tell them "you don't drive a Corvette to impress anyone but yourself, you love the looks and handling of tyour current C4 and thats justs the way it is".
I know, I have a 91 conv. and a 96 LT4 cpe for just that reason !!!
Well, bad news on all fronts for ya, you will have to remove the licence plate to get to the back of all four tail lights to remove them to get to the bolts that are holding the rear wing to the deck. The SMC (Sheet Molded Composite) material will be prep and finished like fiberglass, and then...
Wow, I thought I enjoyed mine alot.... I have a 91 conv. with 172K and finally putting a new/rebuit auto trans in that one. I also have a 96 LT4 with 110K on it, putting a new clutch and flywheel in as we speak. FYI, I also have two sons(22 & 26) that have been driving them to any special events...
You didn't mention replacing or rebuilding the calipers, which sounds like are hanging up in the piston area.... ie; o-rings or corrosion in the piston cups.
If its got the orginal fuel injectors still in it, I would lay money thats your problem. The orignal GM ones are junk and expense to replace, $800 a set. Go get some new Bosch ones, half the cost !!!!! Obtw, the orignal GM ones don't like gas adders or any alcohol base cleaning products.
CE's came both ways .... LT1 (3403 built) or LT4 (2009 built) ....."Premium is Recommend" for a reason, dropping down to a quality mid-grade will NOT hurt the engine. What it will do is decrease your MPG and your performance will fall off. Is the trade off worth it? Thats your call.
One quick way to tell if its a Z51 car...... if it still has orig. wheels.... 275/17's on all four corners, if it has the 245/17 ? maybe 255/17 front and 285 backs then its a FE1(base susp)
List the VIN.... I have a roster of Coll Ed. and might have some history on it.
