    1982 priced for Quick sale.....

Moving half way across the country & the baby can’t go….:cry Must sell 1982 Corvette, Silver/Blue, ~ 43K miles and has MANY new parts. I have receipts for purchase of car + expenses getting it back in shape totaling ~ $15K and I know I don’t have all of my receipts. The car sat for ~ 10 years...

    Very nice '82 for sale.....

Well..... so far I've had a couple of people want the car but no-one's been able to fund the deal. I guess that's going to work in my favor!!!! My wife said she could see the agony I was going through while describing the car & showing it. She's now saying that, if I'll behave..... by not...

    What is your 'daily driver'?

'04 Jeep Wrangler & a '01 Dodge Durango. The Vette gets out of the garage about once a month in winter & weekly in the summer.

What job do we C4 owners have?

Started out with a fire fighting career plan but a gas station fire brought that plan to an abrupt end. I trashed a knee at the fire & 3 knee surgeries later was retired. Started a 2nd career as an RN. My plan was to work in air transport.... hoping for helicopter. I never even applied..... I...

    Very nice '82 for sale.....

Here's some more pic's... thanks for the compliments on the car.... I don't drive it much at all. Maybe get it out of the garage once a month. That's why, it's become a "non-necessity" while needing to re-prioritize. Way too many expenses hitting ALL at the same time. Our son's college expenses...

    Steering issues on 81

My '82 did the exact same thing. It was actually pretty scary at 50mph or more & in a curve, the car would wander side to side in the turn. Mine sat for a long time before I bought it. The first thing I had done was a complete oil change & lube job. The lube job is what wrecked my steering...

Your vette got totaled, buy used C1-5 or new C-6?

Definitely another C3...... nothing against the newer ones, just hooked on the sharks.

Where is the largest C3 show

We try to get to the Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend every year. It's a great atmosphere. Tons of vettes & bikes. I think they estimated better than 900 vettes last year. We already have our T-shirts ready......

    1982 Collector - Runs rough & won't pass emissions

Where can I find one? This was quite a challenge actually.... my local GM parts dept gave me several national 800 #'s for other GM dealers. I made many calls before I found a chip, but finally did. Unfortunately, I don't have those #'s anymore (or at least I can't find them), I will keep...

    1982 Collector - Runs rough & won't pass emissions

Here's another thread that might be helpful to you.... as you can see, the Corvette lovers here can be a huge help with troubleshooting. I'd been lost without their help. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12876

    1982 Collector - Runs rough & won't pass emissions

Mine ran terrible when I first got it & everything I did made it a little better until the new PROM.... now it's running great. First I did the obvious.... new plugs, wires, cap, coil.... the whole tune up. Had slight improvement. It also surged quite a bit at idle.... looked everywhere for a...

    Opinions on 1982 Corvette

Welcome!!! I love my '82 but it's a money pit. Mine has 39K original miles. Over the past 2 years I've spent ~ $500.00 getting the crossfire working properly (part of the problem was a bad intake man. gasket), stopping oil leaks (not counting all other fluids). $1,200.00 rebuilding the...

    Diverter valve for an '81

diverter valve assembly for an '81 My '82 had a couple of valves that had been broken & a poor attempt to repair with cement/glue by the prior owner. They were plugged with the glue & one of them was falling apart again. I couldn't find replacements anywhere so I ventured in to a salvage yard...

a "professional" opinion on my unknown clicking

Hey Matt, My '82 was making a ticking noise from the rear end. I had the brakes checked.... they were fine, had the wheel bearings checked by a shop similar to Midas. They said the bearings were gone & they would charge around $300.00 total for the job. Once I did some investigating I found...
