    2003 Manual Shift Problem

Sounds like not enough throw to fully disengage the clutch. Not sure who the manufacturer is of your clutch but some require shims behind the slave whose thickness is determined by takin measurements. Also, I believe the Tick master cylinder has more throw, but it requires drilling the...

    Eagle F1 GS-D3 - just bought 2 front tires, can't get rears!

There are some Corvette specialty yards that may be able to find two of the matching tires, however be careful on tire dates. Tires can become unusable due to date of manufacture as opposed to wear. See it all the time on motorhomes where the tires go out by date with a ton of tread left on them.

    EBCM problem solved

I had them repair the instrument cluster in my motorhome. They did a fantastic job with that as well. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for electronics repairs.

Short throw shifter for 6-spd C5

I tried the Hurst and I thought it just ruined the car. Between the noise and the shift effort it was obnoxious. I then installed the C6 shifter from GM. It was exactly what I wanted. Shorter than the C5 shifter, no noise, and it shifts nice and smooth.

    Problems with plugs

The NGK's should work. I don't use any of the multiple conductor spark plugs.

Ticking noise from engine bay on start up

I had a problem once before that was caused by carbon build-up rocking the cold piston. Not sure if you have Seafoam or an equivalent where you are located but that might be the cause as well. I would start with simple things first (oil change back to what was used when you didn't have the...

    Help! High RPM is ugly

I would look at fuel filter first.

    check engine light came on

My daughter's Jeep throws this code on a regular basis. Check the rubber lines in the EVAP system. Any cracks in the hoses can cause this. Haven't had it on the Vette, but am now getting to be a pro finding it on the Jeep :Steer

    Question: PROCOMP HEADS vs AFR

I worked with Tony on my setup and have his ported FAST, chamber worked AFR 205's, and the AFR 6016 cam. Very very responsive at any RPM. I agree, contact Tony. The difference between your shop and Tony is Tony designed the AFR heads.

    Question: PROCOMP HEADS vs AFR

Radiator yes, condenser no. You can gently move it far enough forward to clear the cam.

QTP C5 Stainless Long Tube Headers/CATS/X-Pipe

Quick Time Performance made the only stainless steel Tri-Y header design that has ever been available for the C5 Corvette. The tubes on these headers have a very heavy wall thickness compared to other brands that I have seen personally and the headers mate to stainless steel Random Tech metal...

Question: Ever changed a clutch DIY on 'stands?

I did it but I don't use jack stands. I use solid wood blocks like the boatyards use. Anyway, this is a post I put together on alignment of the torque tube. That was my biggest concern working alone on my back and it went very well. The other thing I forgot about was collapsing the lifters...

    battery change out

My original AGM in my 02 finally went out with a "bang" and I went with the Exide Orbital. There seems to be a rash of Optima failures and I wanted something more reliable. I also keep it on the Tender when I know I won't be driving the car for several days.

    what clutch to buy?

If your car is basically stock, the Z06 clutch (not the C6 version) would probably be a good clutch.

    headers

I am running QTP's. The LG's and the American Racing headers look good as well.

    Which Short Throw Shifter????

Same here. I tried the Hurst, pulled it out after two weeks. Couldn't stand the noise or how it shifted. The C6 shifter was perfect for me.

    Headers

I bought the QTP's, only stainless Tri-Y. Easy installation and all O2's are in original position with no extensions required. Nice setup.

    04 ls1 ticking noise

I had a startup tick that went away when I changed over to a Donaldson oil filter. The UPF filter and the Mobil-1 filters both caused the tick. I still have a faint ticking sound, and from what I have read, it is the valve train. I plan to upgrade later to a Crane rocker setup and this should...

    Cold start-high RPM-ported TB

Recently installed a ported TB. Car starts and runs very good, but when cold it starts at 2,300 RPM and then drops back. The throttle blade seems to be open more than the stock unit I took off. Is there an adjustment for initial blade position on the Corvette TB since the motor controls idle and...
