1962 Corvette Restomod

The new seats for the 62 Restomod Corvette arrived. :w
Several adjustments will be made, such as shortening the seat back height and making it wider.
We are still on schedule to be in the shop for October.

Pretty nice seating Roger. Who manufactures those....Tea's, Wiseguy??? Should make the interior nice and comfy. Be safe up there in Carlisle. Irene is on her way.

Fred

We are back safe from Carlisle. :w What a great gathering.

Irene reminds me of a girl I used to know ..... a lot of talk but not much action. :happyanim:

Thanks to Charles and Carol B. - I was able to find a power antenna that was short enough to fit in the 62 Restomod. :w

I fabricated a bracket behind the license plate holder. It has the rear view camera installed. :w
It will hook up to the Alpine NAV stereo unit once the new interior is finished.
Everything is still on track for an end of October completion.

We took the 62 Corvette to the shop today for the start of a total new interior and trunk conversion. :w

The project is planned to take almost 4 weeks. I will post update photos as Jean-Noel works his magic.
As you see in the photos he is almost complete on the XK-140 Jaguar.

Beautiful!! I was a sophomore in HS in 62. Can't tell what I would have done for that car back then. MAJOR congrats.:thumb

The leather has arrived for the 62 Corvette.

The beige will be used for the seats, door panels, dash and trunk.

The grey wil be used for the upper door handles, wheel and various trim.

Different lights and flash produced different tones.

Previous entry shows that the corners behind the instument panel had to be cut so that the Dakota Digital Dash would fit.

Good news is everything is removed except modification to the center console for the Nav Radio. :w

One photo shows the seat back addition from the basic black tube.
The design is still in progress, but the stiching will be similar to this.

There will be some red "French Seam" stiching, the rest will be in the beige thread.
The welt is in the grey leather. Red stiching on the dash.
Picture shows new style A/C vent to be used. Radio/Nav to be moved to center of console.
