Edmond, I think he already has the 52mm TB. LPE really recommends that size as a min for the SR anyway; a 58mm comes with their full package.
Reynald, I'm in the process of installing a SR (and have been for the last year!). Some advice:
1. Get the SR base (another $300). The runners will match up to your stock intake manifold, but you'd need to port the heck out of it to get enough airflow.
2. Get the 74219 roller cam and associated springs, retainers, etc.
3. Port your heads (or get a set of higher-flow ones).
As Edmond says, the stock heads and cam will make the SR useless or worse than your stock motor. I originally wanted to just do the base, plenum, and runners and do the rest later, but was convinced to also add the cam - which meant that I had to do the heads and exhaust - because the flow just wasn't there otherwise.
Alternately, for about $400, you can get an LT-1 intake already drilled for the L98's distributor. Add fuel rails and a decent cam, and you've got 300+ HP cheaply and easily, though you lose on low-end torque in favor of high-end HP.
The SuperRam is a major pain in the tuchus to install. Between 70-bajillion screws, limited access, poorly-cast parts, shipping errors, and directions that were mis-translated from the original Swahili, you'll curse the day you started the project. I'm told the end results are well-worth it; I sure hope so... The SuperRam was designed by John Lingenfelter, and is a great part, but it's manufactured by Accel and their QC leaves something to be desired. For example: I was sent two left-side runners in my kit. The EGR tubes are different, so there was a huge vacuum leak. I've had to drill and re-tap half-a-dozen holes to improve access during installation. You have to take out some of the pushrods and rocker arms to install/remove the runners. And so forth.
If you plan on doing the work yourself, I'd really think twice about this setup unless you're quite experienced.
Other opinions will probably vary; there have been some simple installations on this board. Mine, however, has not been one of them.
On the other hand, their tech support is outstanding. Every time I've had a problem, someone (usually Tim Dyer) has taken a lot of time to make sure things are taken care of. I have no problems with LPE as a company, just this one product...
