Air conditioning...won't work!

Can anyone direct me to a site which provides troubleshooting on an 87? The guy I bought her from said she just needed a recharge (hear that one before?).
I bought a retrofir kit and followed all the directions. It started taking the refrigerant, the compressor was clicking on and off, then it just stopped clicking / compressor not engaged. Anyone know the capacity of that system? Couldn't find it anywhere.

System should hold 3lbs plus or minus 1/2 .Compressor on off check low freon switch jump it out and see if it stays running

Where do I find the connection to jump?

Sorry should have said it is passenger side near receiver dryer (long round can) on aluminium,hose. Two wire plug .Let me Know ,Bill

Found it! It is bad...jumped it and the compressor runs fine...blows cold air (38 to 45F) while driving. Again, THANKS.

glad to help...if only mine was aquick fix have 12 volts at blower but doesn`t blow very hard out vents
