Ive been told the Vortech is quieter than the ATI P1 , and, that it has a broader RPM range ; if you have one how has it worked out thus far , is it quiet at idle and normal driving, reliability, was it a problem getting the PCM reflashed to coincide with the SC, who did the SC install , and how much was the total ?

Thanks, Dave.

no experience with those however, I did check out the Callaway C6 Supercharger package over the past week :cool

560 hp on your C6 - top notch installs :cool

Here is a pic of the package on a Callaway SSR :cool

REPLY: I prefer a centrifugal over a Roots SC . There are some distinct advantages . However, the Callaway installation does look tidy. Is that 560 h.p. at the wheels or at the flywheel ? The vortech SC makes more than this at the wheels on a 2006 LS 2.

That's 560 CHP.

Funny thing, talking with the engineers @ Callaway, they say the advantages are more in favor for the roots blower - I am certain that it would have been far easier to package a centrifugal blower for their C6 packages vs. replacing the Corvette hood.

One dealer of Callaway Corvettes is looking for even more than the 560 hp, Callaway Cars said they will work with him on that :cool

You can certainly ask them questions if you wanted - their phone is 860.434.9002 - Mike V. was who I was talking with there :m

REPLY: An air to air intercooled Centrifugal SC will produce more power , give reliable service, without the added expense of a new hi rise hood. The ProCharger P1 for the 2006 LS2 Corvette will deliver 600 + CHP . The Roots SC will deliver a bit better low end grunt than the Centrifugals thus far, but, Vortech's SC covers a wider rpm band than their preceding SC's . Ive weighed up the pros and cons by researching it and talking to alot of people, and im convinced for my usage a Centrifugal is the way to go.

vortech

I HAD ONE ON MY 95.I LOVED IT AND THE BOOST SEEMED TO NEVER END....12.6'S AT THE TRACK @112 OR SO....C6 TERRITORY THERE.I WOULD GET INTERCOOLED,EITHER AIR TO AIR OR TO WATER..WHATEVER,SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!!I;M NOT YELLING HERE,I JUST LIKE WRITING IN CAPS!!:D SO,THE VORTECH IS RELIABLE AND VERY LITTLE MAINTINANCE,ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT SELF CONTAINED SO YOU NEED TO DRILL INTO THE OIL PAN....IF THEY'VE CHANGED THAT,I DON'T KNOW,AND FOR THAT PURPOSE,IF I DO IT AGAIN ON THE C6,I'D GO ATI,BECAUSE IT'S SELF CONTAINED AND INTERCOOLED...I HAD TO ADD A SEPERATE FORM OF COOLING W/THE VORTECH I HAD AND I GOT AN ALCHOHOL INJECTION TYPE THING FROM GREG AT BLOWERWORKS IN JERSEY(.DIFFERENT COMAPNY NAME BACK THEN,THOUGH).THE NOISE IT MAKES IS SUBTLE YET YOU KNOW IT'S THERE!!IT WON'T KEEP YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT!!IT'S A WHISTLE TYPE NOISE THAT ALL S/C'S OF THE CENTRIFUGAL NATURE HAVE...DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE ROOTS TYPE,NEVER HAD ONE. THE POWER REALLY KICKS IN AROUND 3OOO RPM'S...I HEAR THE ROOTS TYPE KICK IN EARLIER...I MAY GO THE S/C ROUTE AGAIN...I LOVED IT ON MY 95 AND THE ALL IN ALL POWER GAIN IS GREAT...I WAS PUSHING 400 TO THE WHEELS W/IT.Rather than nickel and dime myself to death w/mods that NEVER GET THE CLAIMED PERFORMANCE GAIN,the s/c is the way to go!!!
