How many more miles till i blow the guts out m of my stock mufflers?:cool:beer:W:w

Bucket,
Upgrade to Flowmaster 40 Series w/Delta Flow Technology mufflers and you'll love the new exhaust sound and increased performance without being overly loud!...I did it on my 1981 C3 4-speed manual transmission car, and I wouldn't trade those mufflers for anything!...while you're at it, also swap out the factory catalytic converter with a high-flow unit from Magnaflow, and you're set!...trust me!!!

How many miles on your Vette?

My '81 Vette has only 33,600 original miles as of today. I bought it in 2003 with 25,000 orig. miles. The car is in like showroom condition. I don't drive it much because I have other cars to drive. I changed the exhaust system because I wanted a deeper-sounding exhaust note, not because it was rusted out. I saved the original set-up. I really like how it sounds now with the Flowmaster mufflers!...it sounds bitchin'!

I've tried the rest, then I tried the best. It's Corsa Exhaust for my 'Vette.

Quiet at idle and cruise, loud at WOT.

No droning, nothing, nada, zero.

And and all exhaust system for the C4 with dual outlet exhaust will drone.

I agree with you on the Corsa exhaust system, Rogue. Too bad they don't make a setup for the 1968-1982 C3 Corvette. That's why I had to settle for a Flowmaster exhaust, but for C4 and up Corvettes, the Corsa exhaust is the way to go!

Kane, when are you gonna get a REAL Corvette?....instead of just pretending that you have one with that Trans Am?....don't get me wrong, I also used to own an '87 Trans Am GTA, 5-speed with T-Tops....I loved that car and it was a blast to drive!...I sold it to graduate to my '81 4-speed Corvette, and there is just no comparison!...I love my Corvette even more and it's even more of a blast to drive!!:thumb

I'd almost bet that Kane has had more vettes than you in the last 15-20 years!!Fact is I don't think it's even been a year yet since he had one!!:boogie:boogie:boogieBesides,Kane can use one of mine any time he feels the need, one of mine is part of his!!:chuckle

Exactly, the only reason I have a vette is that I also have a crew cab F-150 to haul my family in! :thumb I do know that Kane has owned a number of vettes and I think the last one he sold was a C3 in which he installed a custom L98 engine in.

Like Jesse and Air1 said- I've had three continuously over the last 16 years. ;)

I've done a couple of C3 TPI swaps, repainted them, a transmission swap here, Z rated tires there, rewired cars for TPI, re-carpeted interiors, and the list goes on- all done by me. In fact, I have a couple of technical articles on the CAC that cover tips on TPI swaps and such. I also lived
outside Frankfurt, Germany with a C5 for a couple of years.

Folks don't always know my story- but I'm always willing to share and offer my Vette knowledge to people.

You are right though- C3s and 3rd gen Fbodies are apples and oranges. I'd also say the 4th gen LT1 with T56 and a 3.42 is a very different car from a 3rd gen LB9 and a T5.

But they are all special. :D

Anyway- as a CAC moderator, let's get back on topic here!

Bucket- have you settled on a set of mufflers?
