Ok,I just purchased u joints for my car,(along with wheel bearings and two new rear tires(seperately):ugh :cry )online from Vansteel. They sent me six u joints,BUT....all of them are the same size and the receipt is for "1963-79 1350 series P/N hs-07" u joints. The caps on the ones sent to me measure 1.188" OD which are correct with 1350 u joints. My question is,are these correct for my 1996 vette? Are all vettes the same size? Are the diameters different from the half shafts to the driveshaft?:confused Please help. Thanks!Shannon

When I got my new U-joints I had to go to the dealer. All the parts places around here wanted to give me the kind with the grease fittings. The factory u-joints were sealed type (no grease fitting) mainly due to size limitations. With the grease fitting the drive shaft won't spin as the grease fitting hits the side of the yoke.

I don't have the info here but I seem to remeber them being the 1350 size.

I think they sent you the wrong joints. The info below is for early C-4 applications. The Spicer Bros. u-joints are widely regarded as the best you can get. They are non-zirked. I don't know if they are the same for the later c-4's but I believe they are. Dana corp is a subsidiary of NAPA and you may be able to get them there. Check out the below info. They are not the same for the driveline and halfshafts :beer

Spicer Bros. U-joint PN’s 5-800x for the half shafts and 5-786x for the driveline --à New PN SPL-30x half shafts and http://www.dana.com/technology/services/

Of Course! Why would they send me the CORRECT u joints!?! :r That would only SPEED UP my repair process!:W :crazy :puke :mad OK....I had my little !@$%ing attack. Now I will call them back and have them send me the right stuff. So much for doing the wheel bearings and u joints THIS weekend. Thanks Y'all,I appreciate the help.Shannon
