OK this has got to be the dumbest question Ive asked yet ..here goes ....is there some sort of trick to re-install valve covers?????? I cant get the :hb
screws to line up ???? Drivin me crazy

Got it

OK i'm gonna mount the valve covers on the beams in my garage and lift the engine up to line the holes up :upthumbs:upthumbs

They can be a pain. get some thin wooden dowels to put into the head if you really need to use as a guide. I used a small screwdriver to align the VC, gasket, and head to get the bolt down in there.

Clean the area the gasket sits in really well. Use a small amount of RTV to hold the gaskets in place on the smaller sides of the valve covers, and the tabs of the gaskets to hold the long sides (if your gaskets have them). Use a small screw driver to line the holes up and bolt them up. :thumb
