I test drove that exact car before i got mine. The guy lives in ocoee near orlando. The car is red with red leather. Dont get it. The paint has scratches all over it. The tires are all shot and the rims are scratched. And the exhaust doesn't really sound that good.
I went to autozone and scanned the codes and this time I actually wrote them down.
P0151= 02 sensor Bank2 sensor 1, low voltage
P0158= Bank 2 sensor 2, high voltage
P0174= Bank 2, system too lean
P0300= multiple cylinder misfire
P1153= Manufacturer control, fuel air meter
I dont know...
I finally got my new clutch put in and now it is on to the engine trouble.
It all started a few months ago when I got the SES light. The code said bad O2 sensors. The car seemed to be running rich, I could smell fuel, power was down, and the idle was rough. I replaced the sensors with bosch...
Well the problems have piled up and I'm finally gonna have the $$ to take car of them. I will be doing all of the work myself so labor is not an issue. Here is the list;
-Clutch and flywheel
-rotors and pads front and rear
-rebuild and paint calipers
-tune up; plugs, wires, 02 sensors, fuel...
The Z tire rating came out as an all around performance rating, 149mph+, ratings like V, W, and Y were meant to distinguish the varying degrees of how much over 149 the tires could go, Y is 186 mph, which most of our cars can't even go.
The dual mass flywheel can't be resurfaced at least thats what I've heard dozens of times. I can get a fidanza alum fw and stage 1 clutch kit shipped for $910 which is cheaper than the DM flywheel alone. Would this be a good setup. Again, I can do the work myself. Also, are there any other...
Well, I'm gonna need a clutch real soon, anything more than 1/4 throttle under 3500 rpm and the engine just revs up without the car going anywhere. I'm trying to take it easy, but it is very difficult to drive on the highway when you basically have to downshift to third to be able to hit the gas...
I need to buy some new front rotors for my 96 and need some advice. I want to know if anyone has bought the power slot slotted rotors on mid america. They are only $10 more per rotor over the stock 13 inchers.
I drive my torch red LT4 every day rain or shine. Of course I'm in Florida and winter isn't really a factor, just means that the top can't always be off.:D I bought it in december and have already put 6000 miles on it. I just can't imagine driving anything else.
From your pic, it looks like your front rims are facing the wrong direction. You can get the ZR1 rims on ebay shipped for around $500. Just an idea. However the price difference between 285's and 315's are around $70 per tire. Anyway, welcome to the club.
Well, my front brakes are squealing, they make a chirping noise almost anytime the car is in motion, this started about 3 or 4 days ago. When I hit the brakes sometimes the sounds goes away, sometimes it turns into a constant squeal. I looked up the AC Delco pads and they were $230 for the front...
Well, I went to close my hatch today and instead of closing straight, it twisted off to the side. One of the two bolts or hinges or whatever they're called that holds the glass to the roof was missing. I cant find the piece on ecklers or mid america. Someone please help before the other one...
I have the muffler elims on my car but the sound is not quite strong (loud)enough for me. A buddy of mine has a 96 cobra and he has an off-road x pipe. It was a bolt on kit that mounts right up to the stock headers and replaces the cats. Does anybody make a piece like this for our cars. We dont...
Not too bad, I spun too much the first time and the other two I kinda bogged a little, our track is not the best for traction so launches are difficult. I listed my 60' times for analysis. Any suggestions on launch technique. I have goodyear F1 GS-D3 285's on the rear.
Well I finally got to go to the track. It was awesome. Here are my times. Remember, this is my first time at the track with this car. So hopefully I can get a little better at the driving. I would just scan these but i dont have a scanner.
A lot of people were suprised to see an "old" vette run...
I'm 19 and in college and just bought my first vette, a torch red LT4. I bought it for $15,000 with 67,000 miles. I have wanted and saved for it since I was in high school and this christmas I was finally able to make the plunge. This is the first car I bought all on my own, with no help from my...
My 96 Lt4 has the Delco Bose Gold system but only has the cassette player. I would like to have the Bose Cd player from 96, no aftermarket units. Trouble is, I cant seem to find them on midamerica or Ecklers. Any suggestions?
I got the car dyno'd today over at Central Florida Turbo, 2 runs for $45.
299.2 hp @5500rpm
324.5 ft/lbs @4000
These are the numbers I was hoping for, it shows the LT4 is underrated at 330hp and 340lb/ft. With 15% loss, the engine is making around 350hp and 380 lb/ft. Thats awesome...
