Had the same problem in my 82. Found out that the blade connectors for power were corroded inderneath the console side panel. Might want to pull the seat out, trace the lins and make sure all connections are clean

I have had the smog pumnp off my 82 ever since I got it. I haven't noticed any problems and nothing with the "Check Engine Light". If you don't need emissions testing, I would keep it off
SOunds like the controller has fried. Mine doesn't make the pulse work either. I checked into trying to get a new one for my 82 and they are discontinued and no reproductions. Looks like salvage yard time :confused
When I removed the old emblem on the CE to put new ones on, I used fishing line. I got a 2 foot section and put the end in each hand. Then I started it on a corner and used a sawing motion to cut between the emblem and the body. Took them off perfectly and I just had to remove the residual...
I use the Zaino car wash. As far as towels goes, I use Cannon Fielcrest 100% cotton towels. If you do use cotton, do the burn test to make sure they are 100% cotton or you will scratch your car
